I could only recomend this Fahrschule. They have 3 locations in Berlin, so it makes it easier for you to plan your classes according to your schedule and location. I had Jürgen as my teacher for my driving classes, he is great and he will explain everything in detail. There is no reason why you would fail the practical driving test if you had him as a teacher. The admin staff is very friendly and always willing to help you or answer any question you have. So, if you are thinking of where to do your driver license, here is the right place :)
Friendly cosy comfy welcoming ambience for customers, Helpful and friendly staffs. My Instructor Clarissa always provides professional knowledges with timely comprehensive advices! I absolutely loved the service provided! Thanks a lot!
Ich würde meine Bewertung lieber auf Englisch schreiben (für mich ist es viel schneller): I just passed my driver's license test this week, it was nerve racking from my side, luckily I had a really chill exterminator. The process started a year ago, during this time the girls in the office, particularly Nine was very helpful every time always promptly answering my inquiries and helping me organize my hours and exam dates. I got the economic package, so it included 19 hours Fahrstunde + 12 hours Sonderfahrt. Regarding the App they offer, although I initially tried to use it, it didn't have a setting to practice the questions in English. So I ended up downloading another one from the internet. Regarding the mandatory theory classes, I was able to do my theory classes in each of the 3 different facilities according to my schedule. So, the flexibility was quite good. I had three different instructors, for the first part I had Clarissa, she really knows her stuff, she is very organized and structured, and one gets to drive the bigger cars. She can explain everything very thoroughly, however she's quite tough and does not have a lot of patience. Probably my learning curve was a bit slower, so whenever I would make a mistake repetitively, she would get mean. This did not help my confidence, so at least four times I was about to burst into tears and on our last ride I kind of exploded. Here the problem was a matter of personalities and I really needed someone waaaaaaaay more calm and patient. I took a break after that, and when I resumed I was able to switch to Dietmar. He is an elderly man, more calmed, relaxed and patience. I was able to feel a lot better about driving, even when I made mistakes, he would correct me very calmly and explain again what had happened and how I should improve. The issue here was that Corona came and we had to pause for about 2 months, we resumed with the Sonderfahrt and on the last class he mentioned he was retiring so he couldn't make it to my driving test. That really sucked. So I took 5 extra hours to drive with Christian and a different car, he was also very chill, but he also had a different style which I had to quickly get used to. However, it worked out! I somehow managed to pass my driving test! I would recommend both AS-Fahrschule and the new students to have a chat beforehand, not just assigning and accepting the pairing student-teacher at random, but rather take a couple of minutes to talk about what type of expectations regarding teaching skills, personality, confidence, etc. the student has, which can make the experience more fruitful. At the end, having had the initial wrong pairing, it really cost me a lot (time, money and confidence). In any case, the school really tries it's best, they do have great teachers and they know their stuff. :)
I just got my driving licence this week, although it was a terrible weather with rain, snow and hailstone. Thanks a lot to my coach! The coach taught me a lot details patiently, which will be very useful in the future. This Fahrschule has an online booking system, you can easily plan your driving practice time with it, which is very convenient. Hope you all do well~
Great driving school! I started as a very nervous driver and they got me through my test on the first try! (I had lessons with Ingo and Dietmar) They helped me get through all the lessons and test in a short time frame and were always very friendly, helpful and accomodating. I would definitely recommend!
The school is great! I took lessons with Clarissa. She speaks English and explains all Germany driving features. I passed my practice exam on the first try.
Very good driving school with friendly and experienced staff. My driving teacher Peter was very experienced and patient, and Barbara and Nine working at the office are very friendly and professional. I passed my exam from the first time! I would definitely recommend this driving school.
Truthfully, there is nothing that makes much sense about getting your license (again) in Germany. But if you somehow ended up here, you're going to have to eventually do it. You can do a lot worse than AS - if you're in this particular boat. Jenny is gentle with the lost and forlorn and will help you navigate the German bureaucracy without making you tear your hair out, too much. All the instructors seem very nice, and take turns teaching the theory classes which actually have a tidbit here and there no matter your driving experience given that the chasm of rules in Germany and the rest of the world is, well...enormous. Don't even get me started. I did all my mid-life-crisis motorcycle training with Ingo who is, basically, a dude. He loves motorcycles in an endearing way, and somehow talked me into buying into motorcycle culture after my initial plan to drive a faster scooter. He's patient, and knows the system. I've been driving a while so we didn't have deep conversations about driving beyond the aforementioned differences between Germany and everything else...but he's a good steady hand to teach you and will get you through the exam - despite all forces of the Dark Side that continually rally against you at Dekra. One little tip, if you're going to do the system as a foreigner and you're transferring your license and adding the A...don't mess around. Plan a month ahead of time, book all your hours with Ingo as close as possible (he's very much in demand) and do your theory as soon as possible so you can book your exam (one can't happen without the other). I went with the flow and it dragged out over several months as there are many steps that have to be accomplished in order. Sit down with Jenny and craft a battle plan, first. Don't half-ass it like me. I'm only writing a long review because it's been 25 years since I have been in a driving school - but this felt like a good one if I had to do it again. And writing it in English because after going through the German licensing process I'm not speaking German for the next two years in protest, AND, I thought it would help foreigners to have a bit of an English commentary on the experience from our expatriate perspective.
I am Chenhui from China. I learned to drive with Tommy in AS-Fahrschule Charlottenburg. I just passed my exam and I am vary happy about it. Tommy is a very nice peson and a very experienced driving teacher. I learned a lot from him. I think we had a wonderful time together. I will recommend my wife to learn driving with him. I also highly recommend others to choose AS-Fahrschule for learning driving, especially with Tommy.
